beheadingsKABUL: (MEP) Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has reportedly ordered an inquiry after militia beheaded four Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fighters and put their severed heads on display late last week.

The incident took place during a day-long battle between ISIS fighters and local village militia members loyal to parliamentarian Zahir Qadir who justified their act as an act of revenge.

The Voice of America reported Monday, Sayed Zafar Hashimi, the deputy spokesman for the president, called the act against “national and international rules and laws of war” adding the president asked the judicial institutions to investigate the incident thoroughly and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Afghans hate terrorist groups like ISIS, but they also do not approve extra-judicial acts.

The battle between militia and ISIS fighters in Achin district left nearly 20 killed including militia fighters who were beheaded.

Defending the militia’s act, Qadir asked: “Do you think if they behead you, you cook them sweets?”
