If Rebels Do Not Join Peace, Are Hardly Suppressed: Ghani  

GhaniKABUL: (MEP) President Ashraf Ghani in the eighth graduation ceremony for military academy officers of Marshal Fahim, once again stressed on the establishment of peace in the country, and said if the rebels did not join peace process, hardly are suppressed.

Some 549 National Army officers on Monday graduated from the Military Academy of Marshal Fahim and joined the ranks of the national army.

Ghani praised the security forces during the ceremony and stated that in the absence of a number of Afghan youth who have left the country, many others joined the ranks of the security forces and defend their territory.

“The security forces of martyrs are at the forefront of the government concessions and their blood will not be forgotten” Ghani added.

However, the president emphasized on the country’s peace as direct peace talks were expected to be held in the first week of this month was delayed for some reason.

Ghani further added that war in Afghanistan is an exigent war and the law will not allow those to create unrest and discontent.

Ghani also added that the Afghan army is independent of politics and is a conscious force that is affiliated to the national interest of the country only.

Remarks by Ghani came as he said Sunday that the militant groups should choose between peace and violence, during his speech at the inauguration of the sixth session of the parliament.
