Gunmen Attack Park Palace Hotel in Kabul, Killing 5 including U.S. National
KABUL: (Middle East Press) unidentified gunmen have reportedly attacked at Park Palace Hotel leavin five people dead six others wounded in capital Kabul.
The attack started at about 09:00 PM last night at in the Kolola Pushta area of Kabul city also what they call to be foreign guest house.
According to reports, Afghan National Security Forces including Special Forces have arrived soon at the area and began striking back the attackers and also rescuing those under the siege inside the hotel.
At least 54 people were rescued by security forces from inside the hotel, said Abdul Rahman Rahimi, Kabul police chief.
Rahimi added that the attack lasted for more than five hours and the attackers were three and were all killed.
Rahimi further added that one U.S. National, two Indians and two Afghans comprised those killed in the attack.
United States embassy in Kabul has confirmed that death of one of American national in this attack.
“Our thoughts are with the families of the victims at this time. Out of respect for the families of those killed, we have no further information at this time,” U.S. embassy spokeswoman Monica Cummings told AFP
The attack occurred after a concert attended by foreigners and Afghans.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
