Ghani Discusses Security Situation with Officials
KABUL: (Middle East Press) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani following a video call with top officials discussed and reviewed the country’s overall situation after being satisfied with his foot surgery in Germany, officials said Monday.
A statement issued by presidential office in which Ghani states the need to secure a better future for the people of Afghanistan and that “the final target of the National Unity Government (NUG) is peace with dignity in the country”.
The statement adds that president Ghani is also reportedly in contact with Pakistan government officials over security and stability in both countries and on the matter of peace will leave no stone unturned in this regard.
Four days ago, the president Ghani had left for Germany for the medical treatment of his foot injury on advice from his doctors.
Earlier, the Presidential Palace tweeted Ghani had undergone a successful foot surgery in Germany and that his health condition was good. He suffered injuries to his foot while marking National Olympic Day in Kabul.
