Ghani: Addiction A Major Problem And Serious Challenge In The Country

imageMEP: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said “we must admit that addiction is a major problem and a serious challenge and should be considered fundamental way to solve it.”

Ghani at the opening ceremony and the launch of the vocational and technical Treatment Center of “Restore Hope”, stated the need to put an end to addiction and disease.

Ghani added that “the majority of drug addicts live in the abyss of despair and this is very important to leave this precipice toward a high hope therefore it must be provided.”

The President stressed that during the past years, the problem of addiction has not been admitted to citizens, “but now I must admit that addiction is a serious problem.”

Mr Ghani said drug consists of producers, transporters and consumers, added that the most benefit of this goes into the pockets of transmitters and this people have addicted around three million Afghan citizens through this way.

According to the President, “In this way everyone is responsible, the country that produces, the country from which transit takes place and the country where the consumer is, all of these are responsible for the misery of drugs that each must deal with this problem.”

However, he promised to take up a serious fight against narcotics efforts, but it requires attention and mobilize families that the government is supporting it.

Meanwhile, President Ghani called the opening ceremony of vocational and technical Treatment Center of “Restore Hope” as an effective step towards restoring hope for treatment of addicts and their return to faith.
