An Afghan security guard has been killed and several employees of the German embassy injured in a bomb blast in Kabul, German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel said on Wednesday.
According to the Deutsche Presse Agency, DPA, large parts of the embassy were damaged in the blast, which was caused by a tanker truck bombing in Kabul’s diplomatic district, killing at least 64 people and injuring 320 others.
In other reports, Wahidullah Majroh, a spokesman for the Afghan Public Health Ministry, said that 80 people had been killed and 350 others wounded.
Little is left of the vehicle, described as either a water or human waste tanker, that was used for the bombing, said Najib Danish, a spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry.
