To push back Taliban in Kuhestan city of Faryab, fresh commandos and police Special Forces having been sent to Faryab are currently fighting Taliban said the security officials in this Northern Province.
“Late evening, yesterday, a group of 100 fresh security forces reached to Kuhestan city through air. This fresh forces are being moving forward and clearing the area from the Taliban” Yuresh Karim, the provincial governor of Faryab spokesmen told the Middle East Press
He added some scattered battles are going on in Bandar district of Kuhestan.
“Taliban have received some casualties as a result of air operations, the public uprising forces have been equipped with weapons and ammunition through air and the threat degree has lowered” Yuresh Karim added
This comes as yesterday, Dr. Saadat, the commander of public uprising and associated with Jamyat Islami, along with 5 of his fellows were killed in a Taliban ambush. The provincial council members also complained about fragile security situation in Faryab.
