fireKABUL: (Middle East Press) A group of armed men have reportedly set five mosques on fire in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Saturday.

The incident took place on Wednesday 29 July in Dand-e-Ghori village in Pul-e-Khumri the capital of the province, said Abdul Rasheed Nadem, head of Baghlan’s Haj and Religious Affairs Department.

No further details have been given regarding the incident however, investigations are underway.

No group including the Taliban militants claimed responsibility behind the incident so far.

The incident comes as armed men have torched a high school in Ghazni province late on Wednesday.
