Five Civilians killed in Nangarhar

As a result of Special Forces operations in Behsood district in Nangarhar province, five civilians were killed and five others were arrested.

“The operation was launched last night in “Gerdi-Cath” area of Behsood district to destroy the armed Taliban centers”, Ataullah Khogiani, spokesman for Nangarhar governor, told Middle East Press.

According to him, five civilians were killed and five detained in the incident, which were released by mediation of Nangarhar Governor.

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses say civilians were killed and arrested during the operation.

“In the operation, five civilians were killed, three were wounded and five others arrested”, said Khan Gharni, resident of Behsood district to the Middle East Press.

However, the 201 Sylab Army Camp in the eastern part of the country said in a newsletter that five armed Taliban were killed and five others arrested.

The newsletter continued: “the Taliban who were killed in Security Forces operations last night, had attacked a security base a month ago”

201 Sylab Camp added; no civilians were killed and wounded in the operations.

Civilians have been killed in Nangarhar province, while Foreign Troops` air strikes killed 13 civilians including women and children in Pule-Achin area of Kunduz province.

Ghulam Rabbani Rabbani, a member of the Kunduz Provincial Council, in an interview with the Middle East Press, confirmed the incident, saying that the people have carried their bodies near the province.
