Fire in Takhar market incurred huge financial losses

People affected by the fire in Taluqan, the provincial capital of Takhar province say, they have lost all the financial infrastructures in the incident and desperately need help.

Those shop owners that lost their merchandise in the fire, standing in front of Takhar province on Saturday morning and calling for help from the government.

At the same time, local officials say they have formed a committee to investigate the case.

Sunatullah Timor, spokesman for the governor of Takhar told the Middle East Press, “Today a committee composed of representatives of government agencies created to research on how the fire and the damage began.”

He said the committee will identify the people who have lost their shops and business properties in the fire in order to execute necessary cooperation for them.

Takhar governor’s spokesman added on Friday incident that has damaged millions of Afghan people; about 400 shops and 6 large sales house completely destroyed and eight people wounded.

It is said that the fire caused by the explosion of a gas balloon in one of the bathrooms in the city that was controlled down after 8 hours.
