KABUL: (Middle East Press) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has promised to expand the present of Afghan women in the national unity government.
Ghani said while talking to a celebration of International Women Day in Kabul that he will bring equality in regards to the women rights in the country.
In his speech marking Women’s Day, Ghani made several announcements and promises in increasing institutions for women, such as building a university for women with the assistant of Turkey in Kabul.
He added that based on their qualification, women would be assigned in key government posts as deputies, would work in embassies and provincial offices.
Among increasing female capacity in leadership, economic projects, government positions, Ghani exclaimed that violence against women is intolerable.
In the ceremony organized in Kabul to celebrate the International Women Day, Rola Ghani, Afghanistan’s 1st lady said that women need to be respected at homes as well as outside.
