According to the “Tel Aviv Times” news agency, quoting “Maariv” news agency, Israeli war ministry and the Pentagon’s missile defense agency have recently finished the last stage of testing air defense system “SharvitKsamim” also known as the “magic wand” with the principal aim of enabling the new anti-missile system to fight off middle range missiles which is the main weapon of Hezbollah.

According to this report, the price of an interceptor missile used in the “Iron Dome” air defense system is seventy thousand dollars but the potential cost of every missile of the “magic wand” system is estimated to be a million dollars, which means with every 150 missiles fired for any reason towards occupied territories, one percent of the $14.4 billion Israel budget spent for the army will be spent for defense and fires of this system.

Military experts ask why can’t several hundred thousand dollar missiles fight off and defeat elementary a few hundred dollar missiles, if the Israeli army has equipment like the Iron Dome for which hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent, and also laser cannons and the latest innovations in laser monitors and cyber equipment?

Accordingly, it is predicted that every Hezbollah rocket can at least cause the loss of a million-dollar missile for Israel, even if launched without a target. This money is paid from Israeli tax payers’ money in these economically hard times, so that if Hezbollah means to attack Israel with the missile power it now has, Israel must spend all its money on buying missiles.
