11713391_915282588530039_1749183378_nKABUL: (Middle East Press) After about 12 local police check posts had fallen by the Taliban militants in Jalrez district of Wardak province, large-scale operations launched to retake the posts and to push back the militants.

According to reports, more than twenty Afghan security forces were killed and injured following the ongoing attacks and clashes in the district and 12 police check-posts were seized by Taliban.

In this regard, Najibullah Danesh, deputy spoksman for the Ministry of Interior said in an interview with Middleeastpress, that backup forces including police, army and national security were sent to the area and soon will retake the captured posts.

According to him, the security forces are trying at the earliest opportunity to recapture the posts and spread the area with another fresh bunch of forces.

Danesh added, sufficient troops were sent to the area to be essential to the operation carried out and also prevent civilian casualties.

Danesh further added necessary steps were made to transfer the dead bodies of the security forces from Jalrez district to Kabul city.

Meanwhile, Attaullah Khogyani, governor spokesman of Wardak province said to Middleeastpress that the military operations started last night and the roads from Bamyan to Jalrez rout is open and traffic is back to normal.

He added that 30 Taliban fighters have been killed including their three commanders in the conflict and 18 security forces were killed and two others injured.

But the question is why the additional troops reached the area before the date which caused the check posts to be fallen into Taliban’s hand easily.

In response to this question, Khogyani said that all the security forces were sent to Jalrez district but because of width of the area, were failed to prevent from the seizer of the posts.

According to him, president Ghani and the governor of Wardak province stressed that the operations should be extended to chuck the Taliban out of the area.

Khogyani said that the massive attack of the militants were conducted from different parts and was the reason for the loss of the security forces and the seizer of the posts, while the government forces equipment have been low.

However, Sharif Ullah Hotak, provincial council representative of Maidan Wardak has issued more details to Middleeastpress that before the conquest of the check-posts, Taliban ambushed a convoy of security forces in the province and blocked the local roads.

He added that the forces of public order who were also on their way to the area, have faced Taliban ambush in some areas and were not able to assist with the security forces in the specific time.

According to Hotak, the clashes are continue to the area of Shir Khan Kotal and the security forces headed to the area to avoid civilian casualties and to perform their operations safely.

However, there was possibility of the district falling by Taliban militants but this member of the provincial council considered this possibility unfounded and has measured the presence of the security forces for taking back the captured areas and to push back the Taliban militants.

He said that Taliban have captured 12 check posts that 3 of the check-posts were recaptured by security forces and the militants have set back from those areas.

The scope and breadth of the war in the central regions of the country has been pushed which before the Northern provinces have also faced numerous invasions and a few districts in the provinces Kunduz, Badakhshan, Sar-e-pol, and other provinces also faced with the risk of falls or as Dashti Archi district was in Taliban’s hand for a while.
