Dr. Abdullah: Taliban have been defeated in Kunduz

Briefing the Council of Ministers’ Session, Dr. Abdullah said Taliban have been defeated in Kunduz.
The council of ministers’ session was held yesterday in Kabul.
In the session, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah while pointing to his recent visit Badakhshan said Afghan security forces by giving sacrifice and in critical situation have retaken Zebak district from Taliban insurgents.
Attacking on Zebak district was part of Mansouri operation launched by Taliban insurgents, which has been failed.
Pointing also to inauguration of Baharak-Ashkashm road project, the country’s chief executive said the road would connect Afghanistan with Tajikistan and China’s borders and big economic and trade opportunities would be also provided by construction of this road.

In his speech, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah also hinted Chinese cooperation with Afghanistan, saying that recently an agreement worth $72 million has been signed between Afghanistan and China.

He praised China for its assistance to Afghanistan, hoping that such assistance and cooperation with Afghanistan would continue.
The country’s chief executive by pointing to holding 4th Afghan Women International Symposium titled ‘Women, messengers  of peace’ in Kabul expressed hope that results of the symposium would help the government towards implementation of its commitment for increasing women presence and their participation in various government sectors.
