District Governor For Bamyan’s ‘Kuhmard’ Killed
MEP: Local officials announced that Hadi Khan Saighani, district governor of Bamyan province was killed by his bodyguards and the armed Taliban say that Saighani has been killed by them.
Abdul Rahman Ahmadi, a spokesman for Bamyan province told the Middle East News Agency that Saighani was killed last night in Sokhta Chanar area of Saighan District.
The incident took place by the driver and bodyguard of Mr. Saighani and the two men are now in police custody and their investigations started, Ahmadi added.
Saighani was on his way to home when came under attack.
Meanwhile, Bamyan security officials say Hadi Khan Saighani was killed in an ambush by armed Taliban.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the district governor was killed last night.
Bamyan province is however considered one of province, but about a month ago, armed Taliban attacked the border checkpoints of Saighan district in which at least three policemen were killed and five others wounded.
