Coronavirus Updates: Deaths, Cases Toll Rise in Afghanistan

KABUL (MEP) – At least 51 new cases of the COVID-19 have been recorded in the past 24 hours in Afghanistan as the total poll rise to 1143, MoPH reported.

Wahidullah Mayar, a spokesman for the MoPH, attending a news conference today said that the newly confirmed cases are diagnosed in the past 24 hours.

The new cases are reported in Kabul (28), Herat (3), Ghazni (2), Kapisa (4), Nangarhar (6), Kunar (3), Parwan (1), Bamiyan (1), Laghman (1), Paktia (1) and Farah provinces.

MoPH spokesman added that four patients of the virus have died since yesterday.

Kabul, with 413 cases and 14 deaths, topped the list of provinces with the latest cases, followed by Herat, with 337 cases.

According to the Ministry of Public Health, 6,839 suspected cases have been tested in the country’s laboratories since its outbreak in Afghanistan.
