By Overtaking Saudi Arabia, India Became World’s Fourth Largest Buyer Of Weapons

MEP: It’s predicted that by 2018, India will become the world’s third largest buyer of weapons.

“Sputnik” news agency announced: According to Jane Center’s defense budget for 2016; by overtaking Saudi Arabia and Russia, India has become the fourth largest buyer of weapons in the world.

The country – which has a population of 1 billion and 250 million – spent 46 billion and 600 million dollars in 2015 and 50 billion and 600 million dollars in 2016 to strengthen its military infrastructure.

Accordingly, by 2018 India could become the world’s third largest weapon buyer instead of the UK.

In the ranking, America with 622 billion dollars of military spending and China with a military budget of 191 billion and 700 million dollars are the first and the second. Britain with 53 billion dollars of spending is in the third place.

According to analysts, a large part of India’s military budget is spent in the field of human resources and personnel. Two months ago this country signed a deal worth billions of dollars with Russia. Russia’s going to sell missile systems, combat helicopters and ships to India.
