At about 10:00 pm last night, the armed Taliban attacked on a security post of Afghan National Army(ANA) in Ghara Shaikhi district of Khaja Sabzpush city and following a heavy clash the security post fell into Taliban`s hands.
“After taking control of the security post associated with ANA, Taliban entered Ghara Shaikhi village and burnt homes of two commanders associated with the public uprising.” Ghate Abdolmanan, member of Faryab provincial council, told the Middle East Press
As he said Taliban over some hours of clash also attacked on another security post in the same village but they were pushed back when the backup forces reached the area and the security post remained in the security force`s control.
Meanwhile, Karim Yuresh, the Faryab provincial police spokesman, said makeup forces are coming soon and the clash left 8 Talibs and 2 public uprising force killed and 5 other public uprising wounded.
He added the district has become normal after the Taliban withdrew.
Since taking control of Gurzad district in Shirin Tagab, about four months ago, Taliban have intensified managing more attacks but the security forces have failed to retake the lost territories.
