Australia’s Cosgrove Meets President Ghani In Kabul

Ghani and CosgroveKABUL: (MEP) Australian General, Peter Cosgrove met with President Ashraf Ghani in capital Kabul and stressed that his country is committed to assisting Afghanistan and economic development.

During the meeting the two sides discussed relations between the two countries in various spheres.

Cosgrove called on Australian forces and other international partners in cooperating with the Afghan security and defense forces, said “this has instigated the forces to take over their country’s security and protect their people.”

The Australian General arrived in Kabul days after an Australian aid worker was abducted by gunmen from eastern Jalalabad city.

Mr Cosgrove also congratulated Mr Ghani and the people of Afghanistan of the national cricket team’s recent victory in ICC World Twenty20.

On his part, President Ghani appreciated and praised the Australian troops for their activities and dedication while they were serving in Urozgan province as well as its role in training Special Forces.
