Arms Smuggler Arrested In Samangan Province
MEP: An arms trafficker with 7 light weapons in Rabatak kotal of Samangan province was detained, an official said.
Monir Rahimi, spokesman for Samangan police chief told the Middle East Press, the smuggler has been arrested this morning by anti-narcotics police.
The smuggler who is a resident of Balkh province, had loaded 5 Kalashnikovs, 2 PK machine guns in a Corolla car from Baghlan province and intended to transfer it to Balkh province, he said.
Rahimi added, investigations started in this regard.
The report comes as the northern provinces of the country these days witness the increasing insecurity and the armed Taliban attacks.
