KABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) launched fresh military operations against the Taliban militants in which least 96 of the militants were killed and 61 others wounded across the country, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced on Saturday.

The Ministry of Interior issued a statement saying the operations were conducted in Badakhshan, Jowzjan, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Paktiya, Paktika, Helmand, Kandahar, Khost,Takhar and Kunduz provinces in the past 24 hours.

At least 11 Afghan Soldiers were also killed during the operations and four insurgents arrested, added the statement.

28 different types of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were also defused by the security forces during these operations, the statement further added.
