KABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghan National Security Forces launched fresh military operations across the country in which at least 41 Taliban insurgents were killed and 37 others wounded in the past 24 hours, Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday.

General Zahir Azimi, the ministry’s spokesman tweeted that at least eight Afghan soldiers have also killed in landmine explosion and militant fire. However, he did not specify the exact locations of the incidents.

Azimi added that the operations were conducted in 11 provinces of the country.

A number of weapons and ammunition were also seized during the operations by Afghan security forces.
