Afghanistan’s Chief of Army Staff Warned Pakistan

MEP: General Qadam Shah Shahim, Afghan army chief of staff in response to rocket attacks from Pakistan in eastern Nangarhar and Kunar provinces, said if the diplomatic routes fail, we are ready to defend the borders of Afghanistan with Pakistan.

Army Chief of Staff emphasized that the government expressed concern over missile attacks from Pakistan through diplomatic authorities.

It is noteworthy that after an explosion at a shrine in Sindh province of Pakistan, the country closed its borders with Afghanistan and also interrogated a number of Afghan refugees.

The country presented a list of 76 Pakistani Taliban to the government of Afghanistan and called for their delivery to Pakistan.

The Pakistani army within a few hours after the explosion in Sindh has launched 200 missiles in Kunar and Nangarhar provinces. In this regard, Foreign Ministry summoned Pakistani ambassador in Kabul and shared the Afghan government concerns with him.

Meanwhile, Army Chief of Staff stressed that Afghan forces will not allow the violation of the territorial integrity of the country.

General Shahim, regarding Pakistan’s request to send the list of 76 people from the terrorists in Afghanistan, said the government has provided numerous lists of terrorists with documents and evidence to Islamabad but so far no concrete action has been made by Pakistan for arresting these terrorists.

He stressed that the government is obliged to prevent terrorists from its territory but the closure of  Torkham border by Pakistan is contrary to all diplomatic norms.
