Afghanistan, India Sign 87 Projects Worth $25 Million

938482093482MEP: The Afghan and India governments have signed at least ten Memorandums of Understanding worth of $25 million which would be utilized to fund micro development projects in the country, a statement by CEO office said Thursday.

The statement added that the 87 projects were signed in the presence of Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah and Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Manpreet Vohra.

Abdullah in addition to hailing the assistance of India to Afghanistan, said the projects after consultation with the representatives of the people, the residents of the provinces and accurate assessment of their needs was shared with India which will have a positive impact on the living conditions of the people with its implementations.

Meanwhile, Vohra said the government of India is committed to long term support and will continue supporting Afghanistan in various sectors.

He said the projects to be implemented are part of the commitments made by India to the people of Afghanistan and the projects will have a vital impact on the lives of the people.

The Minister of Economy Abdul Satar Muradzai presenting at the meeting, said the projects include construction of schools, bridge and culverts which are very much important to resolve the issues of the people.

The Ministers of Economy, Public Works, Rural Development, Higher Education, Labour and Social Affairs, Energy and Water, Agriculture and Irrigation, Education and Health and Women’s Affairs were also attended at the summit, the statement noted.
