Afghan Refugees for the Wrong Policies of Europe

Refugees CrisisKABUL: (Middle East Press) Migration of the country’s citizens to European countries, including Germany has been intensified after German government announced that it would attract a large number of Asian countries labor forces.

At the time it was announced that the citizens of Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and other Asian countries that are more insecure, are possess with higher degrees and employment to be asylum seekers in European countries especially Germany.

For this reason, many young, active and capable labor forces due to insecurity and unemployment in the country, fled to Europe with either borrowed money or the assets they had.

However, the acceptance of the refugees in the beginning were easier; but the situation is getting more difficult and the borders are also shutting to the migrants.

On the other hand, European countries have policies to attract labor forces and open borders for the Afghan refugees, is now faced with another policy that can be said to have been opposed to the previous policy.

European Union, led by Germany, has a serious decision to exit Afghan refugees over the immigrants’’ difficulties added.

According to statistics, Germany is considering to return 7,200 Afghan refugees in the country in terms of “obligatory tolerance” as soon as possible.

The German government has said that it would intensify the expulsion of Afghan refugees in the country.

According to the plan the German government has, those Afghan refugees whose “asylum applications” were rejected in recent years by the Migration Board and courts, are now living without a legal residence documents in terrible conditions in Germany, will be expelled from the country.

The decision of Germany, although followed the different reactions of the Ministry of Refugees and the Presidential Palace; but most of all sides of the country’s dual policy towards Afghan refugees.

Insecurity of Western Power, Increasing Migration!

Wahid Muzhda, political expert told MiddleEastPress that one of the main reasons for migration is increasing of insecurity and war in the country that the western countries have created because of ‘Power’ in the Middle East.

He added that the migration of the citizens of Afghanistan shows that the United States’ and the European countries plans failed in Afghanistan which caused insecurity and economic crises in the country.

According to source, the long war in Afghanistan has made the country’s labor forces not to be specialized workforce therefore the European dual policies are reason for less acceptance of Afghan refugees.

Muzhda referring to the proxy war in Syria and that migration has been a weakening of the Assad regime, said the war in Iraq for nearly five years or less continues and before that, their workforce were unable to be professional and now doctors, specialists and other active labor forces of the country head to Europe.

He considered the withdrawals of workforces from countries like Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and Pakistan as the country’s government attenuation.

Western Military Policy in Middle East, “Smoke in Their Eyes!”

“There is no doubt that the policies the United States and the European countries launched in Asia will cause crisis in the Middle East and the smoke of the fire will get in their own eyes.” Said Wahid Muzhda.

According to him, the United States is far geographically and is away from the problems; but the European nations face a huge flood of immigrants and this has created questions in mind of the people that why there is intervention in the Middle East?

The European officials must answer why they intervene and cause insecurity in those countries and now the residents of those countries after the failure of European programs, migrate to the European countries.

Personal Interests, or the Exploitation of Immigrants?

The question is, what is the wrong or dual policies of the European countries towards Afghan asylum seekers?

In this regard, we have the views of Sayyed Ali Iqbal, Advisor to the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation,

“Afghanistan is currently facing huge circumstances that on one hand the citizens headed to Europe with a lot of difficulties and on the other hand, the European officials are dismissing them.” He told MiddleEastPress.

According to Iqbal, Europe and particularly Germany, which already had an open-door policy and in many cases defended the rights of refugees; now has a completely opposite approach with its basic approach dealing with asylum seekers.

Iqbal believes that the new approach in Germany, will bring serious harm to Afghan refugees, while there are no conditions for returning refugees and conflict continues in many parts of the country.

According to source, considering the current situation in the country, if the number of immigrants return from European countries and Germany will face severe crisis.

Iqbal states that the European approach is a double standard a number of European countries that initially faced a shortage of manpower and lack of job opportunities, have used the presence conditions in the Middle East to solve this shortage.

According to Iqbal, the Europeans have used from the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Yemen and have attracted many parts of the people on their sides and after this, the European Union put pressure on a large number of countries to shut their borders.

The source adds that Germany for the pressure of European Union, has completely changed its policy and took the ‘exit way’ policy.

Iqbal says that the withdrawal of the migrants in this cold season is a pressure on them and their countries in which the German government bowed head toward other European countries’ pressure and has changed its policy towards the migrants.

“We can feel they have achieved their goals and managed to acquire a large part of its workforce with a low cost and the migrants who have recently arrived are standing the current pressure of it.” Iqbal noted.

Meanwhile, Nasrullah Stanikzai a professor at Kabul University, told MiddleEastPress: “new approach deliberated the European countries opposed to the conventions that the European countries are associated with the organization.”

According to Stanikzai, this action is contrary to the European conventions that has membership of the organizations; when a migrant entered a country his/her expulsion will not raise.

However, Stanikzai believes the migrants who travel to Europe should have economic stimulus which in that case, they will not be dismissed and will remain in the destination country.

The professor said the countries of immigration need skilled work forces that Afghan workforces are not professional but other countries are professionals; and they do not pay attention to this category of immigrants which is a form of discrimination.

Dual Policy Consequences?

Sayyed Ali Iqbal believes there would be political and diplomatic pressures, some countries such as Afghanistan has difficult condition and aware of international community that Afghanistan is unable to accept and the consequences are on immigrants and the respective countries.

According to Stanikzai, the European approach is a form of discrimination against the migrants which also causes hate.

In his view, this approach will naturally entail consequences and arising from discrimination in its territory.

Stanikzai added that origin countries can have principles actions and conversations through conventions; but the powerful countries impose themselves on weak countries to impose their ideas.

However, recently the Prime Minister of Greece also criticized the immigration policies of the two countries.

Alexis Tsipras, the Prime Minister of Greece considers the happening situation due to the wrong policies of the west, and says “Military intervention in the region can have democracy in the Middle East, these interventions can serve the geopolitical interests of Western countries that are ill-considered military intervention tragic consequences.”

According to Tsipras, European countries should have fixed its wrong military policies first and then take decision on the dismissing of the immigrants.

Meanwhile, the European countries supported by America, has turned the Middle East into an insecure region and each of them with the support and training of terrorist groups have unsecured the Middle East countries including Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Yemen so the people not have life expectancy and leave for the European countries to find a piece of bread.

On the other hand, they leave the migrants in a strange area by making them more wandering and displacing them.

This comes as recently a large number of dead migrants were found off the coast of Greece and the people of Greece coastal are witness of discovering and transferring of the bodies of migrants every day that most of them include women and children.

A new report suggests that more than 70 children have been drowned in the seas of Greece during the last two months.

In recent months, thousands of Afghans have endured many hardships to reach Germany.

UN High Commissioner for Refugees has reported that in the last eight months of the current year, about 120 thousand Afghans have applied for migration in European countries.
