Afghan Intelligence Seize Three Terrorist Hideouts In Logar
KABUL: (MEP) The National Directorate of Security (NDS) officers have uncovered and seized three hideouts of arms and ammunition belonging to Haqqani terrorist Network in central Logar province.
The caches were discovered from Azra and Khushi districts during separate operations by national security forces.
“The hideouts covered a lot of different types of weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition” a statement by NDS said adding that at least two people were arrested in connection with the case.
According to the statement, the caches included one 82mm rocket launcher with 2 rockets, 3 RPG-7 rocket launchers with their 14 rockets, 2 Ak-47 rifles, 1 pistol, 33 Improvised Explosive Device, 6 mortar shells and 2 hand grenades.
NDS announced that terrorists were planning to use these weapons and ammunition to carry out suicide attacks and bombings on the outskirts of Pul-e Alam city, the provincial capital of central Logar province.
