Afghan Army Kills Top Taliban Commanader Among 15 In Kunduz

MEP-Afghan-ArmyMEP: At least fifteen armed Taliban were killed, eight wounded and 17 others arrested after security forces launched nightly raids in Hazrat-e-Sultan district of Kunduz province on Tuesday night.

Hijratullah Akbari, a spokesman for Kunduz police chief told Middle East News Agency the operations were conducted in Aishanhaye village.

He said the Taliban have suffered heavy casualties in the operations of air and ground forces in which the group’s senior commander Mullah Nasim was also killed.

According to Akbari, further clearance operations will be launched soon in other villages to maintain security for citizens.

The armed Taliban have not commented on the report so far.
