A rocket landing in Shash Darak welcomed the “Kabul Process”!

On Wednesday last week, at least 150 people were killed in a suicide car bombing in Kabul’s fortified diplomatic quarter.

A rocket landed in Shash Darak area, near the NATO Resolute Support (RS) mission headquarter of Kabul.

The incident took place at 11:20.

Najib Danesh, the minister of interior affairs spokesman media office in charge, confirmed the attack and said the rocket landed in a tennis court in the 9th security district of Kabul.

As he said the incident left no casualties.

No group has yet claimed the responsibility of the attack.

The attack comes as the Kabul Peace Process Conference started today. The conference — which was opened by President Ashraf Ghani — is being attended by the leaders of 27 nations and representatives of international organisations.

On Wednesday last week, at least 150 people were killed in a suicide car bombing in Kabul’s fortified diplomatic quarter.

It was the deadliest attack in the Afghan capital since the ouster of the Taliban in 2001.

Four more people died on Friday when hundreds of protesters incensed by the bombing clashed with police, which responded with live rounds fired in the air, tear gas and water cannon.

On Saturday, at least seven people were killed when suicide bombers tore through a row of mourners who were attending the funeral of Salem Izadyar.
