A pregnant wife was killed by her husband in the Garziwan city suburb of Faryab province.
“Golsum aged 35 said to got pregnant by a stranger when she was stabbed to death last night” the Middle East Press quoted Karim Yuresh, the Faryab provincial police spokesman, as saying.
He added the husband of the slain wife left to Iran one and half years ago but returned and killed his wife after he had heard his wife got pregnant.
The killer husband fled to areas controlled by Taliban.
Faryab provincial police spokesman also said a young girl hang herself with an electricity cable in Andkhoy city.
Family violence was said to be the reason behind committing suicide.
Afghanistan northern provinces have experienced the most violence including killing against women.
