3 Alleged al-Qaeda-linked Terror Chiefs Killed by Tunisia Forces

Tunisian-ForcesKABUL: (Middle East Press) Tunisian security forces have raided and killed three alleged leaders of an al-Qaeda-linked Takfiri terrorist group blamed for terrorist attacks on Tunisia’s tourist attraction sites, the country’s interior minister says.

“The operation carried out on Friday by our security forces in cooperation with the army in the region of Gafsa resulted in the elimination of five dangerous terrorists, including three senior leaders” of the Okba Ibn Nafaa Brigades, said Najem Gharsalli in a Sunday press conference as cited in an AFP report.

The alleged Takfiri leaders were identified as Tunisian nationals Mourad Gharsalli and Hakim Hazi, as well as Algerian native Lounis Abou Fath. The other two suspects killed in the raid, however, have not yet been identified.

The minister further said that Abou Fath had been on the wanted list of Algerian authorities since 1994.
