71 Taliban Insurgents Killed In Kunduz Operations  

Afghan security forcesKABUL: (MEP) As a result of nightly air raids by Afghan security forces in three districts of Kunduz province, 71 insurgents were killed and a number of them were wounded.

Hijratullah Akbari, deputy spokesman for Kunduz police chief told Middle East Press that security forces launched three operations last night in Dasht-e Archi, Khan Abad and Char Dara districts.

“The nightly air operations in Dasht-e-Archi district killed at least 61 Taliban insurgents and many others wounded” Akbari said.

According to the source, 10 other insurgents were killed in parts of Char Dara and Khan Abad districts.

Two of the armed opposition insurgents were also arrested during the operations, Akbari added.

The intensity of operations in the district led General Mohammad Qasim Jangal Bagh, police chief of Kunduz to visit the district and watch the operation closely.

Meanwhile, Kunduz security officials say the operations until cleared areas will continue and will be intensified.
