7 Dead, 15 Wounded In Peshawar Explosion

KABUL: (MEP) At least seven security troops were killed and several others wounded in an explosion near a security check post in Pakistan’s Peshawar, media reported Tuesday.

The incident occurred near the Karkhano Market area around 10:30 am, Dawn online news agency reports.

Police and rescue officials said seven people, including security personnel, were killed and at least 15 others wounded. Death toll may rise, as injured were being rushed to Hayat Abad Medical Center.

The blast is likely to be a suicide attack, however, the exact nature of the blast is yet to be ascertained.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
