500 Afghan Students To Deploy To India For Technical Courses

Rahil FarmaliMEP: The Afghan Ministry of Education announced Monday that some 500 students are due to dispatch to India to learn technical training of railway sector and the machinery.

Rahil Farmali, Technical Assistant of the Ministry announced at a press conference in Kabul that the students are being sent to India with the help of the World Bank.

Farmali said the cost of per student is 5,000 dollars that the total cost of students counted to be 2 million and 500 thousand dollars.

He added the students will be trained vocationally for one year and six months in machinery and railway and will return to Afghanistan after completion of the course.

According to Technical Assistant of the ministry, the shortage of technical professionals in the country will be resolved with the returnees of the students.

He noted that among the participants in the training, 25 percent are girls from all provinces of the country.

India is one of the largest supporters of Afghan government that allocates 500 free scholarships to students annually. The country also helps Afghanistan in the field of infrastructure, development and military.
