4 dead, 14 wounded in Helmand bus crash

As a result of a traffic accident along the Kandahar – Herat highway, four people were killed and fourteen were wounded in the surrounding province of southern Helmand.

Helmand governor spokesman Omar Zwak told the Middle East Press, that the incident occurred in the Sangalan area of Washir district on the highway.

He said four passengers died and 14 others were wounded in the incident that resulted from the collision of a 304-type passenger bus with an oil tanker.

“The passenger vehicle was heading for Kabul from Nimroz province,” Zwak added.

Helmand Governor spokesman also added that the wounded were transferred to the hospital for treatment.

Traffic accidents on the highway route are one of the causes of the loss of a number of travelers in the country, so far no proper solution has been made to reduce or prevent it.
