35 Armed Taliban Killed In Clashes With Afghan Army

12_1398214524MEP: At least 35 armed Taliban members were killed in clashes with security forces and three others wounded in past 24 hours, the Ministry of Defense announced Saturday.

The Afghan security forces launched surveillance operations in north and northeast zone of the country in which several mines were also discovered and defused, a statement by the Ministry said.

According to the statement, during the joint operation of (Navid 1) with an air raid in Surkh Kotal area of Dand-e-Ghori in Baghlan province, 17 Taliban members were killed.

The statement stressed that 15 people, including two key armed Taliban in the name of Qari Bakhtiar and Mullah Shah Wali have been wounded.

Elsewhere, the security forces clashed with Taliban in Dasht-e-Laili area between the provinces of Faryab and Jawzjan, as a result, three Taliban members were killed, four wounded and some weapons were seized by security officials.
