220 Schoolgirls Poisoned In Nimroz
MEP: Some 220 schoolgirls have been poisoned in southern Nimroz province on Wednesday morning, health officials said.
Noor Ahmad Sherzad, Nimroz provincial health director, told media the girls were poisoned at one of the schools in Zaranj city the provincial capital.
Shirzad added that the toxicity of the gases is yet unknown and investigations are underway to determine the cause of poisoning.
This is not the first time school girls are poisoning in Afghanistan. Previously, similar events have been reported in a number of provinces.
