18 Of Kidnapped Passengers Yet In Armed Taliban’s Custody

MEP: Mahmoud Yousef Ayoubi, head of Kunduz provincial council said 10 of the kidnapped passengers were released by the mediation of elders in Kunduz, Badakhshan and tribal elders in the Chahar Dara district from the Taliban’s custody but 18 others are still held hostage by the group.

Ayoubi rejects the security officials’ comments that eight of the passengers are held hostage by armed Taliban saying “the group is held some 18 passengers.”

The elders of the people of Badakhshan and Kunduz provinces have released 10 of the kidnaped passengers by mediation on Saturday, Ayoubi told our correspondent in Kunduz.

However, no security official willed to detail further regarding the report despite frequent contacts.
