13 al Qaeda Militants Killed In US Airstrikes In Yemen
MEP: The US military announced it has killed at least 13 militants from al-Qaeda in three counterterrorism strikes in Yemen from Aug. 24 to Sept. 4.
No further details were released on how the strikes were carried out or the identities of those killed.
All three of the strikes against the al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula targets were conducted in central Yemen’s Shabwah Governorate, U.S. Central Command said in a statement.
The group remains a significant threat to the region, the United States and beyond, according to the Central Command statement.
