Untitled-1KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 118 militants were killed and 62 others were wounded in military operations conducted by Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan National Police (ANP) in the past 48 hours.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Thursday states that these operations were launched in different provinces of the country.

The operations were conducted in Hesarak district of Nangarhar, Alisheng district of Laghman, Showak district of Paktia, Barmal and Sar-Rowza districts of Paktika, Khaas, Chanartor, Chora, Chaharchino, Sarab, and Dehrawod districts of Uruzgan, Kajran and Gezab districts of Daikundi, Neesh district of Kandahar, Balamurghab district of Badghis, Khanabad district of Kunduz, Kohestanat and Markaz district of Sar-e-Pol, Darqad district of Takhar, Almaar, Qaisar and Ghormach district of Faryab, Dand-e-Ghori district of Baghlan, Nawzad and Greshk districts of Helmand and Khakjabar and Sorobi districts of Kabul province, the statement adds.

According to statement, four anti-government militants have also been detained during the operations and a number of weapons were seized and 10 rounds of explosive devices were discovered and disabled.

However, the statement did not provide details regarding the casualties of Afghan forces.
