10-year-old Boy Kidnapped, Raped in Kundoz
KABUL: (Middle East Press) A 10-year-old boy has been raped by a man in northern Kundoz province.
Local officials say the boy was kidnapped and then raped on knife point.
Sayed Sarwar Hussaini, spokesman for the police headquarters of Kundoz province said that the victim was playing next to his home when the rapist kidnapped him yesterday afternoon.
Police officials conducted a raid over his hideout in the jurisdiction of 4th police district of Kundoz city, provincial capital of Kundoz, and arrested the rapist.
The victim was still with the rapist by the time of the raid.
Hussaini said that the boy was having good health condition and later handed over to his parents.
In the initial investigation the rapist confessed to his crime.
Rape cases have been increasing in the country and several civil society activists believe if government give severe punishment to the rapist this could be controlled.
This year a child as young as three years old was raped in northeastern Takhar province but last year one case was recorded involving a child as young as 1-year-old.
