Taliban ‘once again’ seize Mirzaulang area of Sar-e-Pul

The important and strategic area of Mirzaulang in Sar-e-Pol province was once again fell to the armed Taliban on the evening of Thursday October 12th.

Recently, parts of the area were recovered from the armed Taliban group.

An irresponsible source did not want to be named, told the Middle East Press the Mirzaulang area near 9:00 pm during an armed Taliban attack, was once again completely submerged by the group.

Taliban, at around 4:00 pm on Thursday, intensified their attacks on security zones in the area, with all the security holes captured by them, and the security forces have retreated, the source added.

According to him, after the first time of the fall of the area, security forces had just rediscovered six shells following their attacks.

In the clashes, a security force is said to have been killed and at least another six wounded.

We asked for the views of security officials in the province but did not succeed at frequent calls.

Mirzaulang district had fallen by armed Taliban about two months ago.
