President Ghani meets Nawaz Sharif in Dushanbe

President Mohammad Ashraf has come to attend a summit of the CASA-1000 project in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan is expected to meet with Nawaz Sharif.

Ghani left Kabul this morning (July 6) ahead of a high-level delegation, a statement by Presidential Palace said.

The president is scheduled to meet with the heads of the member countries of the CASA-1000 Project and deliver speech.

According to officials at the Afghan embassy in Dushanbe, the president will also meet with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on the sidelines of the summit.

Meanwhile, the tripartite summit of Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Pakistan will be one of the other major plans of the president.

According to a predetermined plan, President Ghani will mset with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and will also discuss a joint regional fight against terrorism, assessing economic and trade issues.

This is while the relations between Kabul and Islamabad have been tumultuous recently.
