Pakistan Protests Afghan President’s Remarks In Warsaw Summit

Afghanistan. Pakistan  Sign Flags ConceptMEP: Afghan president’s remarks at the NATO summit, accusing Islamabad on discriminatory treatment of terrorist groups, was followed Pakistan’s reaction.

Ashraf Ghani, President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in his speech at the Warsaw meeting, said that although Pakistan is committed to the Quadrilateral peace efforts, but in action, has differentiated between the terrorists as “good and bad” (Pakistani Taliban and Afghan Taliban) has categorized.

The president had claimed that Pakistan however inside its soil effectively fights with the Pakistani armed Taliban, but no major actions are taken against the leaders of Afghanistan’s Taliban present on Pakistani soil.

In this regard, today (July 10, 2016) Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement showing objections to the remarks by President Ghani.

“It is regrettable that the leaders of Afghanistan continue to the hostile statements against Pakistan, and blame Pakistan for all the failures in Afghanistan,” the statement read.

Pakistan as a supporter of the peace and stability in Afghanistan, will continue its efforts to achieve peace in the country, the statement added.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has said that “we expect the Afghan government to collaborate in the fight against terrorism to go through the effective management of its borders and preventing the penetration of the Pakistani Taliban and sheltering terrorists in Afghanistan.”

According to the statement, what is now Pakistan and Afghanistan are in urgent need, is the cooperation between the two countries and Kabul must stop charges based on false assumptions on Islamabad.

Although Islamabad has reported from war with the armed Taliban on its soil, but the fact that Afghan Taliban leaders live freely in Pakistan is no secret to anyone.

The deaths of the three major Taliban and al-Qaeda leaders (Bin Laden, Mullah Mohammed Omar and Mullah Akhtar Mansoor) in Pakistan, confirmed Afghan Taliban leaders claim in its territory.

According to the same claim, many leaders of Afghanistan and donor countries, especially the United States accused Pakistan of harboring Taliban leaders and there have been many complaints on the lack of sincerity of Islamabad in the fight against terrorism.

Therefore, the peace talks were stalled twice at critical stages and abort for the particular factors.
