Over 30 Armed Taliban Killed, Wounded In Badakhshan
MEP: Local officials in Badakhshan say security forces have managed to kill and wound more than 30 armed Taliban in the district of Raghistan.
Naweed Frotan a spokesman for Badakhshan governor said the security troops launched air and ground operations on Saturday.
He says that in the wake of the operations a number of villages in this district were also captured by Afghan army.
He did not provide details regarding the exact losses of the armed Taliban resulting from the operations, but adds that the Taliban have fled across the district.
The opponent group has not commented on the report so far.
The report comes as earlier this week around 200 armed Taliban have reportedly entered the province from Pakistan.
