Mortar Shell Kills 3 Children in Kunduz
KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least three children of a family have been killed after a mortar shell fired in their residence during Eid days in northern Kunduz province, officials said Tuesday.
Hayatullah Amiri, the Khanabad district chief said that at least two other girls and their father were also injured during the attack, but it remained unclear who fired the mortar however, investigation was underway.
The incident comes when about 285 people, a majority of children, sustained injuries from toy guns, firecrackers, celebratory firing and in traffic accidents during Eid days, Amiri added.
Separately, 19 children have been injured during similar incidents in western Herat province.
