Mortar Attack Kills Four Children In Baghlan
MEP: Security officials in Baghlan province say a mortar attack explosion has killed at least four children and injured three others in the Pul-e-Khumri city.
Noorhabib Gulbahari, Baghlan provincial police chief said the incident occurred when the children were playing with a left over mortar shell from war period in Surkh Kotal area.
Surkh Kotal town is located in the western suburbs of Pul-e-Khumri that was cleared of the armed Taliban about 20 days ago in the wake of a massive military operation, but it is said the armed Taliban still presents in some parts of the area.
