Iran VOWS to break US sanctions by selling oil

Iran’s president Hassan Rouhani said his country will proudly bypass Donald Trump’s illegal and unjust sanctions by selling oil. It comes as Iran kicked off its air defence war games across a vast stretch of the country’s north.

The Sanctions well be on oil exports, shipping and banks, and make it difficult to do business with the oil-rich nation.

More than 700 individuals, entities, vessels and aircraft are now on the sanctions list, including major banks, oil exporters and shipping companies.

The Iranian president said: America wanted to cut to zero Iran’s oil sales … but we will continue to sell our oil…we will Proudly break the US sanctions.

Mr. Trump’s secretary of state Mike Pompeo has defended the sanctions as the ‘toughest ever’ put in place on the country. Mr. Pompeo has said that more than 100 big international companies had withdrawn from Iran because of the looming sanctions. He also said Iranian oil exports had dropped by nearly one million barrels a day, choking the main source of funding for the country. in addition, the Brussels-based Swift network for making international payments is expected to cut off links with targeted Iranian institutions, isolating Iran from the international financial system.

Mr Rouhani said in a the meeting on Monday: “I announce that we will proudly bypass your illegal, unjust sanctions because it’s against international regulations.

“We are in a situation of economic war, confronting a bullying power.
