Ghani Concerns Over Governments Contact With Non-Governmental Entities

MEP: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in a meeting with UN Deputy Secretary-General expressed concern of contacting of some governments with non-governmental elements and individuals.

A statement by Presidential Palace (ARG) released on Wednesday saying the President met Miroslav Jenča, UN Assistant Secretary General this morning for Political Affairs.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the security, stability and peace in the region, multilateral cooperation, combating terrorism and other important issues.

President Ghani referring to the UN’s role in world affairs, said the United Nations goal of the discussion and joint decisions on major issues in the region, hold a conference in the region and play its role in this regard.

He also emphasized the relations between the government and state governments as well as condemning some of the government’s relations with non-state elements for the region’s stability and progress.

At the same time, Deputy Secretary-General said that the proposal of President Ghani over holding the Conference at the regional level would share with United Nations Secretary-General.
