Donald Trump: We’ve Wasted $6 Trillion In The Middle East, $6 Trillion, We Could Have Rebuilt Our Country Twice

MEP: The world has been embroiled in numerous bloody conflicts since the beginning of the 21st century.

Millions of Muslims became the victim of U.S. occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan and also never-ending instability in Libya, Yemen and Syria. Tens of thousands of innocent individuals –women, children, elderly and young – are being added to this long list of unfortunate souls on the daily basis.

On 11 September 2001, two aircrafts crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade Center and this ominous attack harbingered Washington’s crusade against Muslim nations in the Middle-East region under the fake slogan of “war on terror”.

On March 2015, an international medical organization conducted a meticulous study which according to its estimations at least 1.000.000 in Iraq, 220,000 in Afghanistan and 80,000 in neighboring Pakistan, killed as the direct or indirect consequence of the so-called “war on terror”; a conservative total of 1.3 million but as a matter of fact the real figure could easily be in excess of 2 million.

Some military analysts believe U.S. spent $6 trillion in wars on Iraq and Afghanistan. Ironically, much of this colossal money was not spent on the battlefields but on issues appeared to be of secondary importance. In addition to the current $6 trillion, Washington must allocate a further $4 trillion in the next three decades for buying new military hardware and fulfilling war pension scheme for veterans.

A week prior to U.S. onslaught against Iraq, Dick Cheney, the then U.S. Vice President, prognosticated, albeit erroneously, the war would cost just $100 billion for a two-year involvement. Cheney’s predication evinced his extreme Naïveté as the war never ended and the real cost of war was estimated to be 40-50 times bigger than his initial conjecture. The U.S.-led crusades have devastated six countries so far. Hundreds of cities and tens of thousands of small towns need to be entirely reconstructed. Four million people have fled their countries and eight million others have been internally displaced. Turkey alone has accepted 2 million Syrian refugees. Hundreds of thousands are stranded in the Eastern Europe and a great number of them are being repatriated even before their asylum applications examined.

The Bureau of Investigative Journalism claimed since 2002 U.S.-sponsored drone attacks killed at least 7.000 civilians across the world. The death toll resulted from the covert drone attacks in Syria and Iraq was excluded from these finding. Despite the ascending militarization of America, this country failed abjectly to fulfill its expansionist agendas.

To justify such abdominal crimes against humanity needed the creation of an atmosphere of extreme fear, thus Islamophobia was rapidly propagated within the American society and Muslims were criminalized to vindicate Washington’s systematic attack against civil liberties. Forced detention and the torture of hundreds of terror suspects in Guantanamo Bay is the epitome of U.S. barbaric war on the mankind.

Donald Trump in his first interview with CBS after his landslide victory in the 2016 presidential election said that the U.S. politicians for a long time have disappointed the American working class and veterans.

“We wasted $6 trillion on wars in the Middle East ,whereas we could have rebuilt our country twice, look at our bridges, airports, schools and hospitals , they are totally out-of-date,” said Mr. Trump.
