District Governor of Ghazni’s Jaghato Killed
KABUL: (Middle East Press) Unidentified gunmen have fatally killed the district governor of Jaghato in Ghazni province and fled the area, an official said on Thursday.
Mohammad Ali Ahmadi, the deputy governor of Ghazni district chief told “MiddleEastPress” that Mohammad Daud Golestani was shot dead on Thursday morning in Qeyagh area.
Ahmadi said the incident took place when the district governor was heading towards Ghazni city along with his guard.
According to Ahmadi, the armed men have also killed his body guard.
“Investigations are underway”, stated Ahmadi.
This comes as Taliban militants were involved in heavy clashes with security forces to seize the city.
